Application process: The ESOP Advanced Painting Course 23rd September 2024 to Sunday 27th June 2026

Introduction:

This course involves a two-year commitment starting in September 2024 to June 2026. It comes with a studio that is accessible throughout the course right through the summer of 2025. We, tutors, and existing students, are committed to giving the course the focus and energy needed to create a vibrant artistic community. We welcome all who are willing to engage and participate to apply.

For your reference this is a masters’ level or post-graduate level course. There is no requirement for you to have attend art school to apply for this course however you will need to demonstrate an on-going practice suited to this kind of course. All applications will be considered and following a initial vetting a panel that decides who to admit; please note applications to the Course are now opened and we are already admitting applicants on a rolling basis once they pass the selection process. The process from presentation to selection is quick so you will not have to wait long to know whether you have been selected.

There are 16 places available on the course. Once all the places have been allocated, we will have a waiting list. We however advise all wishing to apply to send in their applications as soon as possible.

How to apply

Once again we welcome all applicants. This is an open call to apply.

The course costs £6200 per year and runs for two years. If selected, and you accept our admission offer, you will be committing to attending and participating in the programme for the full two-years.

  • Ten images of your work. Strive to ensure the images give as good and as broad a spectrum of the work you have done and are involved in.
    • OR if the information in availalbe online or on social media that supports your application please send your links or social handles.
  • A brief statement (approximately 500 words) on why you would like to join the course.
  • A brief biography of yourself, OR your artist statement.

The selection panel’s decisions are final and not open to appeal.
