Each scholarship is open to artists between the ages 20-30 years and each has its own specifications. You can apply for both, however if you are successful you will only qualify for one2.

Please note with the limited places available both for the courses and scholarships we strongly advise you to apply as soon as possible.

The ESOP Advanced Painting Young Artist Scholarship 2024-26.

This scholarship provides for 50% of the course fee over the two years on  ESOP Advanced Painting Course 2024-26 and includes a full time studio3 and the End of Course exhibition.

ESOP Young Artist Scholarship 2024-25.

This Scholarship is open to all applicants between the ages of 20-30 years. Five young artists will receive a fully or part-funded artist academic scholarship on one of our one-day a week yearlong courses. All start at the beginning of the new academic year 2024-25 and finish with an End of Year Exhibition at the end of June or beginning of July 2025.

As stated above please apply early and consider applying for two or more courses in your application.

How to apply to each of the ESOP Scholarships:

You will need to follow the standard application process for this course as detailed below and, in your brief statement of why you are applying for the course, include a sentence indicating you would like to be considered for this scholarship, in other words, applicants to the ESOP Advanced Painting Scholarship need only to include a short statement indicating that they are applying for the scholarship as well as to the course.

To apply to our year-long course scholarship please send

  • Six images of your work
  • your CV
  • and a personal statement
    • introducing yourself,
    • your practice as an artist,
    • why you would like to do your selected course
    • and how you believe it will benefit your practice as an artist.

You can also send any other information you believe will help in your application. This may include video presentations, details of any galleries, websites or social media sites that represent your work.

Please remember to include your contact telephone or mobile number. We will need that if you are shortlisted. This will be needed if you are shortlisted for in-person interviews.

Your application will first go through an initial assessment to check that it meets the minimum requirements to apply. Once it passes this initial check it is then presented to a selection panel and if successful you will be shortlisted for in-person interviews.

Please note the selection process is on-going and once all places are filled up we will close the admissions on or before August 4th. Once you are shortlisted for in-person interview you will be contact about the date and time of your interview.

All applicants whether successful or not will receive a response from us regarding their application. If you have not received a response to your application by the 15th of September, please check your spam/junk box prior to contacting the school.
