Each scholarship is open to artists between the ages 20-30 years at the start date of the course. Each scholarship has its own specifications. You can apply for both, however you get one of either2.

There are limited places available. We strongly advise you to apply as soon as possible.

1: ESOP Young Artist Scholarship 2024-25.

This Scholarship is open to all applicants between the ages of 20-30 years. Successful candidates will receive a fully or part-funded artist academic scholarship on one of our one-day a week yearlong courses for the new academic year 2024-25 and finish with an End of Year Exhibition in 2025.

You are welcome to applying for two or more courses in your application. However note the scholarship will be offered for one course.

2: The ESOP Advanced Painting Young Artist Scholarship 2024-26.

Following the recent withdrawal of two scholars due to personal reasons we have reopened our scholarship applications and extended the deadline to apply to the 30th of June 2024

This scholarship provides for 50% of the annual course fee over the two years of the  ESOP Advanced Painting Course 2024-26 (EAPC) and includes a full time studio3 and the End of Course exhibition.

You will need to follow the standard application process for the ESOP scholarships as detailed below. In your brief statement of why you are applying for the course, indicate that you would like to be considered for the The ESOP Advanced Painting Young Artist Scholarship scholarship.

How to apply to either of the ESOP Scholarships:

All applications are to be sent to admin@theesop.com . For your images or large files please use WeTransfer.com and remember to tell us on your application email the date and what you have sent by WeTransfer.

  1. Start by stating which scholarship you are applying for.
    • If you want to be considered for both please state you are apply for both. Note we will only offer one of either scholarship.
    • Remember last date for the Advanced Painting Scholarship is 30th June AND for the Yearlong Scholarship it’s 4th August 2024. Note however with the yearlong scholarship offer are done of a running basis so as soon as a suitable candidate is found the offer is made. With limited places available places could run out on or before the 4th of August.
  2. Send Six (6) images of your latest work done in the last two years. If images can also be seen on your website or social media please send details of those.
  3. your latest CV
  4. Write personal statement of no more than 700 words
    • introducing yourself,
    • your practice as an artist,
    • why you would like to do your selected course
    • and how you believe it will benefit your practice as an artist.
  5. For applicants to the EAPC
    • if shortlisted for our in-person interview, we may request two referees.
  6. Send any other information you believe will help in your application. This may include video presentations, details of any galleries, websites or social media sites that represent your work.
  7. Please remember to include your contact telephone or mobile number in your application email. We will need that if you are shortlisted for in-person interviews.

What happens to your application:

Your application will first go through an initial assessment to check that it meets the minimum requirements to apply. Once it passes this initial check it is then presented to a selection panel and if successful you will be shortlisted for in-person interviews.

Once you are shortlisted for in-person interview you will be contact about the date and time of your interview.

All applicants whether successful or not will receive a response from us regarding their application. If you have not received a response to your application by the 15th of September, please check your spam/junk box prior to contacting the school.
