Bella Easton

London based artist, curator and art educator Bella Easton, studied a Postgraduate at The Royal Academy Schools (1997- 2000), Painting BA at Winchester School of Art (1990 -1993) followed by a Print Fellowship at City and Guilds of London Art School (2000-02). She continues to exhibit and curate home and abroad. Bella’s practice hybridises painting and printmaking. Her technically proficient artworks combine traditional methods such as copper plate etching, lithography and oil paint that are produced in unorthodox ways, onto porcelain, paper and/or textiles. Starting with drawing she replicates and reflects image and history by examining extracts of architectural spaces and the objects from within, toying between the present and absent illusion of space through geometry, symmetry, gradation of light and surface is an aesthetic constant within Bella’s artwork. With an interest in pattern, ornament, repetition, light, space she creates large-scale, immersive, atmospheric lit compositions.
