The course suitable for all levels is divided into terms of 8 weeks running on Fridays 10.30am to 1.30pm. If you joining after the start date of the class fees will be calculated pro-rata from your start date and the necessary refund issued.
FEE £275 per term (for 8 weeks) or £500 for the remaining 2 terms. Please note this class is limited to 6 participants. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Join this popular class and learn step by step approaches to oil painting from the highly skilled tutor and artist John Myers ENSBA MFA.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The course will cover materials and methods of oil painting including supports and surfaces, brushes and paint mediums. Students will learn colour mixing and ways of constructing images through contrasting tonal values, blocks of colour, line and texture. Much emphasis will be placed on the tactile handling of the paint. We will start by painting simple still life set ups. With a maximum of six students only, this course will ensure you receive all the guidance you need to set yourself on the path to successful oil painting.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
John Myers is a master artist and highly experienced tutor. He is the 2009 winner of the Grand Prix Maryse Anderbouhr award from Taylor association des artistes in Paris and a graduate of Fine Arts and Art History from the distinguished École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1972 to 1977). From 1986 to 2002 John, a fluent French speaker, taught drawing and painting at the City of Paris’s École des Beaux-Arts and was visiting lecturer at the prestigious British School of Paris.
