JOHN MYERS ENSBA MFA: ARTIST AND TUTOR AT THE ESSENTIAL SCHOOL OF PAINTING.

John Myers  is a master artist and highly experienced tutor. He is the 2009 winner of the Grand Prix Maryse Anderbouhr award from Taylor association des artistes in Paris and a graduate of Fine Arts and Art History from the distinguished École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1972 to 1977). From 1986 to 2002 John, a fluent French speaker, taught drawing and painting at the City of Paris’s École des Beaux-Arts  and was visiting lecturer at the prestigious British School of Paris. He exhibits widely in France and regularly in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

John has a rare depth of knowledge and a vast range of skills related to painting techniques and materials. John’s weekly classes in oil painting on Friday mornings are quite possibly the best in London with a uniquely intimate maximum of six students only, so plenty of tutor contact time. We are delighted that John will be running Part 2 of Painting Techniques: a hands on guide through time starting in Jan 2017. He also runs our popular Painting the River en plein air courses in Spring and summer. He famously amongst his students uses an effective and little known oil painting medium recipe which he generously shares.
