As a painter Rosemary Beaton is a National Portrait Award winner. She is  highly skilled artist and technician and this can be seen in her classes; as a tutor she is simply great.

Our weekend with Rosemary Beaton was simply sublime; Rosemary’s enthusiasm and joy in what she is engaged in is not only infectious but also instrumental in how she manages to turn what would be a ‘difficult’ process of finding one’s own vision into an evolving and interesting project. that she makes at the very beginning of the course like “for your composition it’s quite important to get to know Joy (the model)… do some sketches these will feedback to your work… have a think about your composition it can make or break you piece…” ring true as you work your way through the middle stages of your portrait and by the end of the weekend most students were reporting significant gains in their work.
