Moyna Flannigan studied at Edinburgh College of Art and went on to complete her MFA at Yale University School of Art in 1987. She was a Lecturer in the Painting Department at The Glasgow School of Art from 1995-2005. Over the past two decades she has built up a significant track record as one of Scotland’s leading painters, consistently exhibiting in galleries and museums in the UK, New York and the USA, and in Europe. Recent shows include : Women Artists of the Pizzuti Collection, USA (2012), Mackintosh Museum, Glasgow (2012), Van Abbe Museum, Eindhoven, NL (2011), Andy Warhol Museum (USA, 2010). Solo exhibitions include the Scottish National Portrait Gallery (2004), Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute (2007), Sara Meltzer Gallery, New York (2009), the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Solo, 2010), Galerie Akinci, Amsterdam (Solo, 2013), and The Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow (Solo, 2014) as part of GENERATION:25 Years of Contemporary Art in Scotland.
