Uncover the timeless art of portraiture and learn to bring faces to life with confidence. This immersive 10-week evening course invites you into the world of oil portrait painting, where observation meets expression and technical mastery meets creative exploration.

Working in studio and guided by Georgia, an experienced artist and tutor, you’ll explore the fundamental building blocks of portraiture; from understanding the structure and proportions of the head, through capturing light, colour and tone, to developing a compelling likeness that goes beyond the surface. You’ll work from live models and reference material, discovering how to mix tones, create depth, and give character and expression.
Whether you’re a curious beginner with a passion to learn, or an experienced painter wanting to refine your skills with fresh insight, this course offers a warm, supportive environment where you’ll grow technically and artistically. By the end of the term you’ll not only have boosted your confidence with oils but also crafted portrait works that feel richly alive and uniquely your own.
