Course description
This course offers two days of oil painting from life in our well-light main studio in Wood Green, London; perfect for immersing yourself in figurative painting from observation. Working with a model throughout the course you will work on the key skills that provide a foundation for painting and developing your practice.
The course will cover:
- The basic proportions of the face and head
- Transitioning from drawing to painting
- Building volume through tonal values
- Fundamental colour theory, including colour choices for painting ‘ skin tones’
Course Level:
The course is suitable for students of varying levels; all are welcome (beginners to experienced painters)
Materials:
All necessary materials, including brushes, paint, papering and solvent, are included with the exception of canvas (provided un-stretched) which you can purchase in studio.
