With a prestigious career spanning over three decades, including three major museum retrospectives and over 30 international awards, Anne brings unparalleled insight and experience to our course. As a Royal Academician since 2011 and former editor of Printmaking Today Magazine, her contributions to the field are truly extraordinary.

During the course, participants will have the unique opportunity to learn directly from Anne as she shares her techniques and insights into wood engraving. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or relatively new to Wood Engraving this course offers a supportive environment for exploration and growth.
Participants are encouraged to bring along small sketches, photos, or images as references. Basic drawing materials such as pencils, erasers, and black drawing pens are recommended. Additionally, students are encouraged to bring any interesting and unusual papers they may have at home, such as gift wrap, map pages, old banknotes, coloured papers, concert or bus tickets, marbled papers, sweet or chocolate wrappers. However, it’s important to note that the paper samples should be smooth, without texture.

About Anne Desmet RA
Anne is an established artist who specialises in wood engravings, linocuts and mixed media collages. She has had three major museum retrospectives to date, received over 30 international awards, and her work is in museum collections and publications worldwide.
