This in studio course runs over the course of 4 alternate Sunday mornings. Rosanna will introduce you to the process of glazing in oil painting; a technique which adds a dimension of colour light and depth no other technique can replicate. The course will include an introduction to materials, preparation of surfaces, why certain materials are used and the problems that might occur and why.
Once we’ve discussed the key elements Rosanna, will take you through each stage of the process, from transferring a drawing to the support, underpainting (and the different methods that could be used) and the different stages of glazing. The intention will be to share key principals, giving you a foundation of the technique on which you can expand your knowledge through application and experimentation.’
