Weekend Painting the Land, Sea and Sky with David Caldwell 10- 11 June 2016

Join celebrated landscape & portrait artist David Caldwell for a weekend of painting and drawing the amazing natural beauty of land, sky and seascapes in Camber Sands, East Sussex.

This class is limited to 10 participants. Open to all levels of experience, please book early to this ever popular course.

On Saturday we will travel to Camber Sands that an hour and half from central London, and, on Sunday we are in the ESOP studios bringing all our studies to life on canvas.

Over the years we have found that Cambers Sands lends itself to panoramic views of the sea, perfect for painting deep and contrasting colour. Fees are not inclusive of travel. Travel from London’s St Pancras International to Rye East Sussex (one and half hours journey) Return ticket prices range between £12 and £24∗

Course Outline.
Saturday:

The class travels to Camber Sands to draw, paint and photograph the magnificent scenes of sands, crushing waves and gentle rolling hills. David will also hold an open discussion on how to develop ideas on what to paint and think about while in the field. We meet at St Pancras international 7.15am return to London 6pm. It will be a long and interesting day, please come along with some wind-proof clothing, water-bottle and snacks, sketch-book and camera. We will break for lunch at 1pm for an hour.

Sunday (Working in studio)

We are in the studio – 10:00 – 17:00 working on realising your ideas using different paint mediums. The class will start with a short discussion by David on his own work and how he develops his landscape paintings. David will also demonstrate some of his techniques and how he translates his ideas from the field onto canvas in studio. All art material provide by the school.
