Painting Glorious Nature with Rosemary Beaton April 2016

Sketching-at-Kew-Gardens's-Lily-PondA fantastic time was had all round on Rosemary Beaton’s class ‘Painting Glorious Nature’ http://bit.ly/RBK16. The students got to spend a whole day at London’s Kew Gardens drawing and observing the spring bloom of exotic flowers. They even got to see the Titan arum flower.

Amorphophallus titan flowers for 2 days (48 hours) once every 20 years and is also known as the ‘corpse flower’ due to the carrion like stench it produces. It feature on several sketches done during the visit and made a final appearance on a work done by Sasha Stadnik.
