Biography
Alison Harper is in ‘Who’s Who of Women in the World’ and can be found in “Who’s Who in Art”. A graduate of Glasgow School of Art she is one of “The Glasgow Girls”. A Commonwealth Scholar Alison has taught at various institutions including Glasgow School of Art, Citylit Institute London and is the Founder and Artistic Director of The Essential School of Painting. The recipient of many awards and prizes, Alison has shown in numerous exhibitions including The National Portrait Gallery, The Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, Leicester City Art Gallery. and has work in many private and public collections including The BBC and Strathclyde University. Make a day of it and have-a-go at painting or drawing
There will be a have-a-go kids and adults painting corner with tuition. Paint your own little canvas and take it home with you. Have-a-go-painting is from 12 to 5pm. £6 per person includes all materials, canvas, acrylic or oil paint. The newly beautified Victoria Park with its pagoda and waterfall and The Museum of Childhood is minutes away so why not make a day of it.
