TheESOP Tutor Adrian Wiszniewski RSA Exhibits at Compass Gallery 2015

Cat and Mouse by Adrian Wiszniewski Oil on Canvas

Adrian Wiszniewski RSA, Exhibition at Compass Gallery

New Paintings and Works on Paper

Dates: September 5th to 25th 2015

TheESOP tutor Adrian Wiszniewski has found his own style over the thirty years he has been painting. His bold, large figurative paintings, at the Compass Gallery, demonstrate a unique and unmistakable style. His subjects are diverse and often allegorical. Adrian’s work is strong, colourful, confident and daring. His continued adherence to his figurative subject matter could very well hail the oncoming of a new figurative revival. Numerous works in this new show, such as ‘Russian Red 1913’, relate to the period when Igor Stravinsky composed music for the avant-garde Ballet Russes, ‘The Rite of Spring’. Many of these new paintings explore the theme, and include his images for the artwork for a new recording of the Stravinsky composition by the David Patrick Octet.

Adrian teaches at The Essential School of Painting this October.

About Andrew Wamae

Andrew Wamae is the Director and co-founder of the Essential School of Painting (ESOP). He has a deeply held belief in the power of art to transform lives and society, and a particular interest in exploring new models for art education beyond school; championing the twin ideals of excellence and affordability in a highly pressurised sector when university fees are soaring and student/ tutor contact time is at an all time low. Andrew is particularly keen to ensure that the visual arts continue to be supported and thrive well. A creative, innovative and visionary professional, Andrew, in conjunction with his co-founder Alison Harper, has transformed the Essential School of Painting from humble beginnings to an established institution holding from one-day to year-long courses and workshops for all levels of experience; from beginners to postgraduate and professional artists. He has managed to enlist the support of a long list of celebrated artists from multiple fields in the creative industry to teach or lecture at the school or in their studios.
